The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) hosted its 14th convocation ceremony at Mahatma Mandir on Saturday, celebrating the graduation of 668 students, the largest batch in the institute’s history.

The event also marked a significant academic milestone as 111 students received their PhD degrees, the highest number conferred by IITGN in a single convocation.

Addressing the graduates, chief guest Aditya Ghosh, co-founder of Akasa Air, reflected on his leadership journey and the evolving landscape of India’s economy. He emphasized the value of pursuing one’s passion, cultivating trust, and committing to lifelong learning.

Ghosh urged the graduating students to maintain a growth mindset, question the status quo, and embed sustainability into all aspects of their work. He also highlighted the importance of humility, steady self-improvement, and choosing the right role models.

Encouraging the students to guard against internal challenges such as complacency and arrogance, he reminded them to view failures as stepping stones and to aspire for meaningful success—defined by the positive impact they create in the lives of others.

The 14th convocation of IIT Gandhinagar marked an important chapter in the institute’s evolution, showcasing its growth in research, academics, and innovation. Held at the Mahatma Mandir, the ceremony brought together graduating students, faculty members, families, and distinguished guests in a celebration of academic excellence.
