Gujarat Vidyapith to Award Scholarship, Fellowship

Gujarat Vidyapith has announced new academic financial support initiatives, including scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students and fellowships for PhD scholars. The decisions were taken during a meeting of the university’s Board of Trustees held at Gurukul in Kurukshetra, Haryana, on March 21. The meeting was chaired by Chancellor and Governor Acharya Devvrat as part of the board’s fourth session for the 2024–25 term.

Under the new plan, the university will award the “Chancellor’s Scholarship” to 100 meritorious students from undergraduate and postgraduate programs every year. An annual allocation of ₹10 lakh has been approved to support this initiative.

In addition, Gujarat Vidyapith will provide research support to doctoral scholars through the “Gandhi Vichar Vistarak” scheme. As part of this program, five PhD students will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹25,000 each year, aimed at encouraging advanced research and academic excellence.

The Board also approved a special allocation of ₹50 lakh for the centenary celebrations of the university’s graduation programme, which is scheduled to take place on December 2, 2025.

These initiatives reflect the institution’s commitment to promoting higher education, research, and academic achievement while marking a significant milestone in its history.
